Stitch Fix Kids celebrated their first year in July. We were so excited to try it for the first time last summer but procrastinated a bit signing up and the girls got their Fixes late in August. This year, we wanted to get a jump start on back to school shopping so we scheduled Fixes in July. The girls opened their Fixes together for the video below. This Fix (August 2019 Kids Review) is for my 12-year-old daughter Sara. The review for Megan (my almost 9-year-old) is the July 2019 Kids Review.

Not familiar with Stitch Fix? Check out my post-Finding Style with Stitch Fix to read about how it works. We love getting a box of new clothes and being able to try them on in the comfort of our home. With Stitch Fix, you can mix and match with items you already own and try new styles. Keep what you want and send back anything you don’t (with free shipping both ways). There is no minimum purchase, and you can choose how often you want to receive a fix (automatically ship every 1-3 months or manually choose a date).
Stitch Fix Kids offers sizes 2T-14, and each kid box comes with 8-12 items that are priced $10-35. I love that Stitch Fix realizes that kids grow fast and kept the price of items reasonable. There is a $20 style fee for each box that is used as a credit on anything you keep. Each of my daughters received 10 items in their Fix along with a fun activity sheet and stickers.
What Sara Kept
Sara loved all three t-shirts that came in her box. Since Sara is heading into middle school this year, we asked for clothes that weren’t too kid-ish. We felt like her stylist really delivered on her Fix.
Sara loved the color and design of each of these tops.
This dress is so cute and she loved it right out of the box. Honestly, I loved it too and wished that they had one like that in my size!
We are big fans of Stitch Fix leggings because they are great quality. These gray leggings were a nice, versatile color that she can wear with anything. (shown in green dress picture below).
Sara really liked this cardigan. Unfortunately, the cuff on one of the sleeves was missing (??). Exchanging an item is very easy. When checking out, click on exchange and select the size. In this case, the size was perfect so we selected the same size and indicated that the item was damaged. Finished checking out and paid for the cardigan. The other cardigan arrived a few days later and was just fine.
What She Returned
This jean skirt was very cute and went well with all of the tops Sara received (pictured above). It was just too short for this tall 12-year old.
This striped dress was the same one that Megan received in her Fix. Sara also didn’t prefer the cold shoulder cut so she returned it.
I thought that this green dress was super cute and I loved the color and floral pattern. We thought it went well with the leggings and cardigan. Sara liked this dress but felt like the neckline was too wide.
The gray leggings above were the perfect length, but the black ones were too short and hit Sara mid-calf (picture with blue top). They were pleated near the ankle which likely affected how they fit on her. She felt like they were too short so back they went.
Overall, Sara loved her Fix and kept 6/10. She is tall and thin, so it is slightly challenging to find clothes that fit her well. This Fix gave her great items to start her off in middle school and she was happy with everything she received.
