Quick and Easy Cinnamon Biscuits

This recipe is as quick and easy as it comes with only 4 ingredients.  It is similar to monkey bread but without all the work or time monkey bread takes to cook.  I learned this recipe at a church activity when I was 10 years old, and I loved to make it for my family growing up.

When you picture your future, what do you see? A dream home, having a family, paying off debt, traveling the world?  Goals and dreams may look different to each of us.  Sometimes it might feel like our “someday dreams” may never happen.  Life throws us curve balls or we may be so busy trying to get through our day to day lives that goals get put on the back burner.

Maybe you are a SAHM that wants to help out with household expenses-diapers, school, music lessons, activities, sports, clothes, braces, college, etc. Or you are a working professional that is burnt out by the stress of your job and want to get rid of the daily grind and travel the world.  Or maybe you are nearing retirement and looking for a way to increase your nest egg.  Whatever the case may be, you decide to turn to the Internet to find ways to increase your income. Salted Caramel and Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

There is just something wonderful about a warm, gooey oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.  This recipe is one of our longtime family favorites.  Last year, I discovered Hershey Salted Caramel chips, and they took this recipe from great to AMAZING.  I’m not sure if the caramel chips are only around during the holidays, but you probably want to stock up on them now just in case.  Then make these cookies because they are really awesome. 7 Tasks for a Cleaner Home: Holiday Edition

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read our disclosure policy for details.

My goal was to have this post up last week so everyone could have two weeks to work on it before Thanksgiving. Obviously, life was busy and that did not happen.  Several readers commented on Week #6 that they wished they had found this series sooner, and I realized that some were feeling behind.  Instead of continuing with week 7, this week is a special holiday edition that focuses on getting everything ready for holiday company.  If you want to read the other weeks in this series, the links will be at the bottom of this post.  Want access to the special holiday checklist? November 2017 Stitch Fix Review

When my kids were little, I didn’t spend much time shopping for myself. Trying to keep kids calm while I looked, taking them into a dressing room, and then having to make a quick decision on an item was just not enjoyable.  As a busy mom of older kids, I still don’t like to spend time looking at racks of clothes and trying things on in a dressing room.

My husband and I joined Stitch Fix in March 2017 (check out Finding Style with Stitch Fix to read about how it works).  We love getting a box with new clothes and being able to try them on in the comfort of our home.  With Stitch Fix, you can mix and match with items you already own and try new styles. You can choose how often you want to receive a fix (manually choose a date or automatically ship every 1-3 months). Keep what you want and send back anything you don’t (with free shipping both ways). This month, I did a little preview on my Facebook page when I got my Fix. [Read more…]

Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.  Do you want to impress everyone with the most delicious dinner rolls EVER? For many years, I enjoyed these amazing rolls at my in-law’s home during the holidays.  I never asked for the recipe because I imagined they were hard to make.  A few years ago, I finally asked for a copy of the recipe and guess what?  They are not that hard!  These rolls do take time to raise, but trust me….they are so worth it!  They are the perfect rolls for your Thanksgiving feast, but they are also delicious with soups, casseroles, etc…  Soft, fluffy, buttery-you will want to find reasons to make these often.

Update 11/20/2018  I made a video! Now you can see how easy they really are to make! 🙂

Catching up on Summer Photo Memories

Catching up on summer photo memories

Why is it so hard to find time to record our memories? We all take photos of our families, and most of us share snippets of our lives on social media.  But are we actually taking time to organize those photos, write down the stories that go along with them, and PRINTING them out?  Between running kids everywhere, trying to keep the house somewhat clean and laundry done, and trying to answer that never-ending question of what’s for dinner, it is HARD to make time for memory keeping. Trying to carve out a few minutes a day when you have 20 other items on your to do list is a challenge for every overwhelmed mom, especially when it is just easier to hop on social media or Netflix. 🙂 [Read more…]
