I once read an article that said this generation of kids are the most photographed of all time, but they are in danger of not having ANY photos of their childhood. How could that be? Technology.

All our photos are trapped in a digital world.  They live on our computers and phones. Hopefully, they are backed up online and on external hard drives.  We share them on Facebook, Instagram, and in texts and emails.  But are we printing them out and writing down our memories? [Read more…]

Banana Bread

The past week has been a little crazy where we live.  For the past year, our community has been preparing for the Great American 2017 Solar Eclipse.  Being in the path of totality could mean hundreds of thousands of people coming to visit our area, and we were told in advance to have groceries and gas on hand in case stores were wiped out.  A week before the Eclipse, everyone in town hit the groceries stores and the banana shortage of 2017 began. 🙂

Within 24 hours, the grocery stores were restocked and everything was fine (more about the eclipse at the end of the post).  In honor of all those now ripe bananas, I felt it was the perfect time to share my recipe for banana bread.  It is moist, full of flavor, and a favorite of family and friends in our area. Crockpot Roast and Vegetables

Growing up, my mom would often make a roast with potatoes and carrots for Sunday dinner.  She would put it in the crockpot frozen and let it cook all night.  What a wonderful smell when you walked in from church on Sunday!  I don’t make a roast often, but I should because it is a quick, easy dinner.

Welcome to my August 2017 Stitch Fix review!  My husband and I joined Stitch Fix in March 2017 (click HERE to read about how it works).  He has been pleased with all his fixes.  I loved my first one but wasn’t thrilled with my second and third fix.  After taking a break for a few months, I decided to give Stitch Fix another try.  I started a board on Pinterest over the summer and searched for clothes that I liked.  You can find Stitch Fix clothing ideas on my inspiration board HERE and on our review board HERE.  I have always given good feedback, but I feel like my Pinterest board made a huge difference this time.  I loved the clothes I received this month. Want to know a secret: I am not one for high fashion.  I am a girl that likes to dress for comfort, and to me, that means t-shirts and jeans. Day in, day out, that is what you will likely see me in.  I never thought I would write a blog post on fashion, and yet here I am. [Read more…]

Zucchini Brownies

If you have zucchini in your garden, then you likely have an abundance that you are trying to figure out how to use.  We planted our garden late this year, so I just picked our first zucchini about a week ago.

One of my favorite recipes to make during the summer is Zucchini Brownies.  I loved when my mom made them when I was a kid.  I have used her recipe with a couple of small changes for years.  They are a great way to use up some of that zucchini that may be hanging around, and everyone loves these rich, cake-like brownies. No Bake Oatmeal cookies

This was my very first blog post when I first started blogging years ago and it became my most popular on my early blogs.  I have a big sweet tooth, especially when it comes to chocolate. After a busy day, I don’t want to spend tons of time baking, especially during the summertime.  This recipe has been a family favorite for generations and is quick with only 6 ingredients.
