Last fall, my daughter was begging me to make rice crispy treats. They are not my favorite dessert, but I am always happy to make something my kids’ request. After a pantry search yielded very expired Rice Crispies (gross!), we looked at what else would work. We had a box of Oreo O’s, so we decided to give them a try. Super easy and so good! This is now our go-to cereal treat recipe! [Read more…]
Peanut Butter Nutella Cookie Cups
Yesterday I went through my big list of planned posts and made a monthly plan for the whole year. I was feeling pretty proud of myself. Then I saw that today was World Nutella Day and decided to move this recipe post up six months. So much for planning! 😂 This recipe was too good to put off anyway. [Read more…]
Practically Perfect Pumpkin Bars
I love Fall! The cooler temperatures have put me in the mood for baking, and I can’t wait to share all of my favorite fall recipes! I got this pumpkin bar recipe from a friend many years ago, and it is one of my all time favorites! The original recipe makes a huge pan (11×17), so I only make them once a year when I need a dessert for a crowd.
This year, I decided to adjust the recipe down for a regular 9×13 pan. My kids and I finished them off in no time flat and they are begging me to make them again soon. The regular pan was the perfect size for a family and was easier to keep in the fridge for a couple days. If you do need to make a bigger pan for a crowd, I will include that recipe at the end. 😃 [Read more…]
Campfire Marshmallow Eclairs
Camping season is underway, so I wanted to share one of our favorite camping recipes. We made them on our first camping trip many years ago and they quickly became a family favorite. After many years of camping, we sold our camp trailer last summer but we still like to make these Marshmallow Eclairs in our backyard firepit. [Read more…]
Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies
To me, the perfect chocolate chip cookie is soft and chewy with just the right amount of chocolate. I have tried different recipes for chocolate chip cookies over the years but never found a favorite. One day, I made some small changes to a recipe that I found on the back of a bag of store brand chocolate chips, and I finally found our family favorite. They are simple to make and turn out perfect every time!
Delightfully Delicious Carrot Cake
My mom’s carrot cake was always a favorite when we were growing up. It is moist and delicious, and the frosting is just heavenly. Years ago, I bought a boxed carrot cake mix thinking it would be the same. I will never make that mistake again! I have also tried carrot cakes from several different stores and NOTHING comes close to this carrot cake. [Read more…]
One Hour Orange Rolls

My kids LOVE when I make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. It is one of our favorite holiday and special occasion traditions, but most recipes are SO time-consuming. You have to make the dough the night before and then wake up very early so they can rise for several hours before you bake them. For years, I would purchase frozen rolls that I could set out the night before to raise and we were happy with that.
Then one day I came across this pin for One-hour Cinnamon Rolls. Yes, that’s right-fresh baked, soft, delicious cinnamon rolls made in ONE HOUR. We tried them, loved them, and have been making them ever since. The original recipe makes 24 rolls and can be found HERE. Since we don’t need that many cinnamon rolls, I cut the recipe in half and modified it slightly. Sometimes I make this recipe as cinnamon rolls, sometimes I make it as orange rolls. Both variations are amazing. [Read more…]
Peach Cobbler
We adapted this peach cobbler recipe from a Dutch oven recipe. We have tried other cobbler recipes over the years but always come back to this one. It is super simple with only 4 ingredients. It is also delicious cooked in a dutch oven if you are looking for an easy camping dessert. [Read more…]
