Quick and Easy Cinnamon Biscuits

This recipe is as quick and easy as it comes with only 4 ingredients.  It is similar to monkey bread but without all the work or time monkey bread takes to cook.  I learned this recipe at a church activity when I was 10 years old, and I loved to make it for my family growing up.

Salted Caramel and Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

There is just something wonderful about a warm, gooey oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.  This recipe is one of our longtime family favorites.  Last year, I discovered Hershey Salted Caramel chips, and they took this recipe from great to AMAZING.  I’m not sure if the caramel chips are only around during the holidays, but you probably want to stock up on them now just in case.  Then make these cookies because they are really awesome. Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.  Do you want to impress everyone with the most delicious dinner rolls EVER? For many years, I enjoyed these amazing rolls at my in-law’s home during the holidays.  I never asked for the recipe because I imagined they were hard to make.  A few years ago, I finally asked for a copy of the recipe and guess what?  They are not that hard!  These rolls do take time to raise, but trust me….they are so worth it!  They are the perfect rolls for your Thanksgiving feast, but they are also delicious with soups, casseroles, etc…  Soft, fluffy, buttery-you will want to find reasons to make these often.

Update 11/20/2018  I made a video! Now you can see how easy they really are to make! 🙂

One Hour Orange Rolls

My kids LOVE when I make cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  It is one of our favorite holiday and special occasion traditions, but most recipes are SO time-consuming.  You have to make the dough the night before and then wake up very early so they can rise for several hours before you bake them.  For years, I would purchase frozen rolls that I could set out the night before to raise and we were happy with that.

Then one day I came across this pin for One-hour Cinnamon Rolls.  Yes, that’s right-fresh baked, soft, delicious cinnamon rolls made in ONE HOUR. We tried them, loved them, and have been making them ever since.  The original recipe makes 24 rolls and can be found HERE.  Since we don’t need that many cinnamon rolls, I cut the recipe in half and modified it slightly.  Sometimes I make this recipe as cinnamon rolls, sometimes I make it as orange rolls.  Both variations are amazing. Strawberry Peach Freezer Jam

Fall is definitely in the air in Southeast Idaho, but it is still technically late summer. 🙂  Every Fall, I like to get a box or two of juicy, sweet peaches.  Last week, I shared my recipe for Fresh Peach Cobbler. Today, I am sharing our favorite peach strawberry freezer jam.  It is super easy and fast to make and tastes delicious!  Truth be told, I haven’t purchased jam from a grocery store in YEARS.  I make several batches of strawberry and peach strawberry jam every year.  My kids love it on sandwiches, pancakes, rolls, etc. [Read more…]

Peach Cobbler

We adapted this peach cobbler recipe from a Dutch oven recipe.  We have tried other cobbler recipes over the years but always come back to this one. It is super simple with only 4 ingredients.  It is also delicious cooked in a dutch oven if you are looking for an easy camping dessert.   [Read more…]

Banana Bread

The past week has been a little crazy where we live.  For the past year, our community has been preparing for the Great American 2017 Solar Eclipse.  Being in the path of totality could mean hundreds of thousands of people coming to visit our area, and we were told in advance to have groceries and gas on hand in case stores were wiped out.  A week before the Eclipse, everyone in town hit the groceries stores and the banana shortage of 2017 began. 🙂

Within 24 hours, the grocery stores were restocked and everything was fine (more about the eclipse at the end of the post).  In honor of all those now ripe bananas, I felt it was the perfect time to share my recipe for banana bread.  It is moist, full of flavor, and a favorite of family and friends in our area. Crockpot Roast and Vegetables

Growing up, my mom would often make a roast with potatoes and carrots for Sunday dinner.  She would put it in the crockpot frozen and let it cook all night.  What a wonderful smell when you walked in from church on Sunday!  I don’t make a roast often, but I should because it is a quick, easy dinner.

Zucchini Brownies

If you have zucchini in your garden, then you likely have an abundance that you are trying to figure out how to use.  We planted our garden late this year, so I just picked our first zucchini about a week ago.

One of my favorite recipes to make during the summer is Zucchini Brownies.  I loved when my mom made them when I was a kid.  I have used her recipe with a couple of small changes for years.  They are a great way to use up some of that zucchini that may be hanging around, and everyone loves these rich, cake-like brownies. No Bake Oatmeal cookies

This was my very first blog post when I first started blogging years ago and it became my most popular on my early blogs.  I have a big sweet tooth, especially when it comes to chocolate. After a busy day, I don’t want to spend tons of time baking, especially during the summertime.  This recipe has been a family favorite for generations and is quick with only 6 ingredients.
